چکیده

1 Summary: In this paper, we study the following node-to-node and node-to-set routing problems in r-dimensional torus T r n with r 2 and n 4 nodes in each dimension: given at most 2r 0 1 faulty nodes and non-faulty nodes s and t in T r n , nd a fault-free path s ! t; and given at most 2r 0 k faulty nodes and non-faulty nodes s and t 1 ;. .. ; t k in T r n , nd k fault-free node-disjoint paths s ! t i , 1 i k. We give an O(r 2) time algorithm which nds a fault-free path s ! t of length at most d(T r n) + 1 for the node-to-node routing, where d(T r n) is the diameter of T r n. For node-to-set routing, we show an O(r 3) time algorithm which nds k fault-free node-disjoint paths s ! t i , 1 i k, of length at most d(T r n) + 1. The upper bounds on the length of the found paths are optimal. From this, Rabin diameter of T r n is d(T r n) + 1.

Fault-Tolerant Broadcasting in Toroidal Networks

A non-redundant fault-tolerant broadcasting algorithm in a faulty k-ary n-cube is designed. The algorithm can adapt up to (2n 2) node failures. Compared to the optimal algorithm in a fault-free k-ary n-cube, the proposed algorithm requires at most 3 extra communication steps in the case of cut through packet routing and (n + 1) extra steps in the case of store-and-forward routing. Conditions un...

CAFT: Cost-aware and Fault-tolerant routing algorithm in 2D mesh Network-on-Chip

By increasing, the complexity of chips and the need to integrating more components into a chip has made network –on- chip known as an important infrastructure for network communications on the system, and is a good alternative to traditional ways and using the bus. By increasing the density of chips, the possibility of failure in the chip network increases and providing correction and fault tol...

Hyper Butterfly Network: A Scalable Optimally Fault Tolerant Architecture

Bounded degree networks like deBruijn graphs or wrapped butterfly networks are very important from VLSI implementation point of view as well as for applications where the computing nodes in the interconnection networks can have only a fixed number of I/O ports. One basic drawback of these networks is that they cannot provide a desired level of fault tolerance because of the bounded degree of th...

Using Fault Avoidance for Fault Tolerant Routing in Interconnection Networks

Next to the high performance, the most important feature of the multiprocessor systems is their fault tolerant capability. In this regard, fault tolerant interconnection networks and specially fault tolerant routing methods are important parts of these systems. Hypercube is a popular interconnection network that is used in many multiprocessors. There are a number of suggested methods for fault ...
